History

The Wisconsin Association of Worker’s Compensation Attorneys, Inc., (WAWCA) was founded in 2001 as a non-profit corporation.

It is a membership organization of attorneys who practice in Wisconsin and who have a special interest in worker’s compensation law. The membership also includes administrative law judges from Wisconsin’s Worker’s Compensation Division, Department of Workforce Development (DWD). On November 30, 2001, WAWCA held its first annual meeting and elected its first full board of directors.

WAWCA exists to serve the public interest by fostering and promoting educational opportunities for its members and the general public (including Wisconsin employees, employers and insurers) on topics relating to Wisconsin’s worker’s compensation law.
